Peak Efficiency Calibration of HPGe Detectors for Volume Sources Based on Virtual Point Detector Model

  • The inverse square law was used to calculate the volume source absolute efficiency by point source experiment based on virtual point detector (VPD) model. It provided a methodology for the peak efficiency calibration of volume source for HPGe detector. With the experiments, the results show that in some conditions it’s a useful and feasible method of peak efficiency calibration for volume sources, and the method can be used in engineering-oriented practice.
