Study on Effect of Radial-Heterogeneity in Segmented Gamma Scanning Analysis

  • Segmented gamma scanning (SGS) is an important technique of quantitative analysis for nuclear scrap and radioactive waste. The first precondition is that the radioactive material and the media of object distribute in the specifically segment uniformly. In this paper, the effect of radial-heterogeneity was simulated. The result indicates that the SGS analysis will be deviate from its actual content if the actual radial distribution differs from the uniform assumptions. The measurement result supports the conclusion from simulation.
