Application of DFT in Performance Analysis of Detectors Used for Ionizing Radiation Measurement

  • In order to develop the front-end amplifier in the gas-filled ion chamber, which was used in high accuracy thickness gauge for cold-mill steel strip, the Fourier analysis was applied in evaluating the performance of the front-end amplifier in the gas-filled ion chamber. Based on the research for the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) with the zero-point data sampled from the chamber, the design of the front-end amplifier in the chamber was optimized and it was used in the actual thickness gauge.
