Numerical Computation of Radon Distribution in Different Soils

  • The numerical computation of radon distribution in soils was implemented, considering 6 different types of homogeneous soils including sands, etc. and typical layered soil. Thereafter researches were mainly focused on factors which affect the distribution, such as diffusion coefficient, porosity, and rainfall. The situation of abnormal radon distribution in soil caused by radium distribution was also analyzed. The results show that the radon concentration increases with depth of soil.
