Abstract
By using TAC as raw materials, TAC polymer foams with ultra-low density were prepared by frozen drying and supercritical drying processes. The research results show that the volume shrinkage of the foams prepared by supercritical drying process is much lower than that of the foams prepared by frozen drying process. The SEM results indicate that the TAC foams prepared by both the two methods have open net-work microstructure, and the foams prepared by supercritical drying process have smaller pore diameter and more uniform microstructure. This kind of ultra-low density foams is hopeful for ICF and Z-pinch material applications.
