Numerical Simulation on Wave Structure of Falling Film on Flat Plate

  • In this paper, capacitance probe and high speed camera were adopted to study the wave structure of the falling film on the flat plate experimentally. Two typical shape waves were studied numerically to investigate the internal structure of the wave based on the experimental data. The wave shape keeps invariant and the shear stress by the air is neglected in the numerical calculation. The internal velocity distribution and wall shear stress distribution were obtained. The calculated wave velocity agrees well with the experimental data. The recirculation flow was found inside large amplitude wave.
