Analysis of Simulation for Neutron Target Driven by 15 MeV Electron Beam

  • The photoneutron source driven by electron beam is fit for nuclear data measurement experiment. The neutron target, driven by a 15 MeV electron accelerator at power of 7.5 kW, was designed for the experiment. The MCNPX code was used to simulate the neutron source. With the simulation data, the target geometry and other parameters were optimized. And the CFX, a commercial CFD code, was used for the target cooling simulation to insure it working properly. A neutron source with an intensity of 1012s-1 is available in this designed work.
