Abstract
Numerical simulations were taken on single phase flow in an orderly packed bed for resistance characteristics using CFD modeling. Besides, two sets of orderly packed bed resistance experiment were used to investigate the adaptability of CFD method in single phase pore flow, and numerical accuracy was analyzed and evaluated through different fluid, flow conditions and packed ways. Based on the preliminary validation, the calculation of CFD method has high credibility for the single phase pore flow in packed bed in the certain flow range. Finally, resistance correlations of the single phase water liquid and gas were captured by numerical methods, and the correlations provide reference for the hydraulic design of the pebble bed reactor core.
