Sorption of Eu(Ⅲ) on Goethite and P-Goethite

  • Sorption of Eu(Ⅲ) on goethite and P-goethite was studied using a batch experiment method. The results show that the sorption of Eu(Ⅲ) on goethite is strong pH-dependence, increases from about 10% to nearly 100% over the pH range of 4-6, and then keeps a constant level in higher pH range. The sorption edge of Eu(Ⅲ) onto P-goethite is much closer to a lower pH. The sorption isotherms were analyzed with Langmuir, Frenudlich and F-L models, and the Freundlich model can fit the data better. The presence of 20 mg/L FA has prominent effect on the sorption of Eu(Ⅲ) on goethite but little effect on P-goethite.
