Study on Preparation and Properties of H310BO3/ZnS(Ag) Scintillators for Thermal Neutron Radiography

  • The H310BO3/ZnS(Ag) scintillators used for thermal neutron radiography were developed by coating method. The ratios of the components were optimized. It shows that the optimized mass ratios of H310BO3/ZnS(Ag) are from 1∶6 to 1∶7 and the suitable mass fraction of the binder is 25%. The spatial resolution of scintillator was investigated by modulation transfer function (MTF) method using neutron radiography at Peking University. The results indicate that the spatial resolution of H310BO3/ZnS(Ag) scintillators with thickness of 270(11), 350(14), 404(9), and 505(15) μm are 255.6, 315.9, 371.0 and 471.3 μm, respectively.
