Abstract
Phase difference between the velocity and pressure drop of pulsating laminar flow in rectangular channel was investigated experimentally. The influences of the flow fluctuation period, relative amplitude of pressure drop, fluid properties and aspect ratio of the flow cross-section in rectangular channel were analyzed by establishing mathematical model. Experimental results were compared with the mathematical model results. The results show that the imposed flow pulsation causes phase difference between the velocity and pressure drop. The phase difference is only determined by structure of rectangular channel, fluctuation period and fluid properties, but irrelevant to relative amplitude of the fluctuation.
