Improved Method and Its Verification for Cell-Wise Homogenization Calculation

More Information
  • The conventional cell-wise homogenization calculation method is flux volume weighting method which maintains the flux and reaction rates conservation of each group under the reflective boundary conditions. But there is a certain error for the results when incident flow is considerable. An improved method for the homogenization calculation based on the response of incident flow and exit flow instead of the conservation of mean flux was proposed in this paper. Almost little calculation amount was added in the new method. The verification on a slab problem with reflector and the C5G7MOX benchmark problem indicates that the new method can improve the accuracy of the calculation for the eigenvalue and pin power distribution.
