  • The double-sided silicon strip detector (DSSD) is the main component of the high energy particle detector (HEPD) onboard China seismic electromagnetic satellite (CSES). The low power consumption and high integration level of DSSD readout electronics was attained by using the application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) VA64TA2. The functions of the DSSD readout system were tested by 241Am 5.486 MeV α particles. The energy resolution of the junction side is about 1%-2%, and the energy resolution of the ohmic side is about 3%-4%. The results generally meet the rated performance of the DSSD.
