Prediction of Two-phase Pressure Drop During Flow Boiling in Porous Media Channel With Internal Heat Source

  • Based on Ergun equation, the Chisholm parameter Y and two-phase multiplier Φl0 for porous media channel were defined to predict two-phase pressure drop during flow boiling in porous media channel with internal heat source. Effects of exit quality xe, mass flux G and particle diameter d on parameters Y and Φl0 were identified by theoretical analysis and experimental measurements. A Lockhart-Martinelli (L-M) type correlation for predicting two-phase pressure drop was proposed and it can make more reasonable predictions to experimental results than other correlations available in literature.
