Development of Measurement System for Single Event Effect on Pulse Width Modulator

  • An online measurement system for single event effect on pulse width modulator (PWM) was developed, which can test the frequency, duty cycle and reference voltage. The single event effect experiment of PWM using the system was carried out on the HI-13 tandem accelerator in China Institute of Atomic Energy. The results show that single event effect can cause errors in frequency and duty cycle, and the errors may last several milliseconds sometimes. The LET threshold of single event effect for UC1825AJ is about 4.4 MeV•cm2•mg-1. The radiation-tolerant ability of single event effect for UC1845AJ PWM depends on the date codes.
