Analysis of Technical Development of Vitrificating Radioactive Waste in Cold Crucible Induction Melter

  • Cold crucible induction melter (CCIM) technology, as the fourth generation vitrification technology, is the most promising application technology. In this paper, the principal, application characteristics and the research and development status of this technology were reviewed. Several key technics and problems about CCIM technology were analyzed. On that basis, some suggestions on developing CCIM technology in China were proposed.
