Development of Burnup Calculation Code for Pebble-bed High Temperature Reactor at Equilibrium State

  • The burnup calculation code PBRE coupling MCNP5 and ORIGEN2 was developed for pebble-bed high temperature reactor at equilibrium state, and it can be used to analyze the neutronic performance of equilibrium core. The iteration method was optimized in order to save Monte Carlo calculation time, and the convergence can be reached in 10 iterative steps. The average discharged burnup for HTR-10 is consistent with literature, and it indicates that the PBRE is suitable to analyze the burnup for pebble bed reactor at equilibrium state.
