Decommission of Tritium Contaminated Metal Glovebox

  • The scheme of decommissioning tritium contaminated metal glovebox was designed, which can reduce tritium gas release during the glovebox dismantling, the volume of tritium waste and the radiation damage. The scheme includes a preliminary tritium decontamination before the glovebox dismantling, a suitable cutting technology for the glovebox and a multiplex protection. A test for tritium contaminated metal glovebox dismantling was performed successfully with this scheme. The results show that the scheme is able to meet the demands for decommission of tritium contaminated metal glovebox.
