Study on X-pinch of Hybrid Pole Structure

  • The X-pinch as the source of X-ray backlighting, has higher space resolving power and time resolving power, and it can screen the process of fast change, such as the wire array implosion. For getting several X-ray backlighting photos at the same wire array implosion, it must have several X-ray sources. With Light Ⅱ-B (~250 kA, 50 ns) pulsed power generator at China Institute of Atomic Energy, the X-pinch of hybrid pole structure was developed according to experiment. The results show that the X-pinch of hybrid pole structure with conical electrodes can radiate X-rays, and the X-rays mainly consist of photons with energy about between 2 and 4 keV. Because of the space symmetry and the least current, the X-pinch of hybrid pole structure can provide backlighting of several sides.
