Development of Automatic Nanosecond Risetime High-voltage Recatangular Pulse Generator Based on Dielectric Foil Switch

  • An automatic nanosecond risetime high-voltage rectangular pulse generator based on dielectric foil switch was developed. A compact low inductance dielectric foil switch was designed, and the factors which affect the characteristic of switch including circle inductance, matched impedance, length of the transmission line, etc. were analyzed. An automatic mechanical device used to change dielectric foil was designed which is controlled by PLC module. This generator can produce a rectangular pulse with risetime of 1.25 ns, voltage value of 2.8 kV, and pulse width of 20100 ns. It can be used broadly in the area of high pulsed power technology and study of electromagnetic pulse affection.
