Abstract
Central composite design (CCD) strategy, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to investigate the effects of Cl- concentration, temperature, pH value and SDS/CTAB concentrations on the electrochemical corrosion behavior of carbon steel. The significant influencing factors and the best ratio of SDS and CTAB compound solution were also determined. The results reveal that corrosion of carbon steel is inhibited in presence of SDS, CTAB and their mixture. The optimum condition of the corrosion inhibition of the mixture of these two anionic and cationic surfactants on carbon steel is Cl- concentration of 0.01 mol/L, pH value of 12, temperature of 10 ℃, SDS concentration of 150 ppm and CTAB concentration of 20 ppm.
