Numerical Study of Alfvén Eigenmode in HL-2A Tokamak

  • The Alfvén eigenmode in the HL-2A Tokamak plasmas was analyzed numerically with GTAW code. The eigenfrequency and mode structure of the toroidicity induced Alfvén eigenmode (TAE), as well as the effect of plasma density distributions on them were studied. Under the typical experimental conditions, the calculated eigenfrequencies of TAE are 99.09, 74.90 and 99.17 kHz, respectively, which are in agreement with the experimental observation result. It is also found that the TAE eigenfrequency decreases and changes of the mode position and structure are negligible when the core electron density increases.
