Study on Code Modeling and Test Initialization Condition Method of ACME Facility

  • The ACME (advanced core-cooling mechanism experiment) facility is an integrated test facility for passive core cooling systems, with 1/3 height scale of CAP1400 nuclear power plant. The NOTRUMP code model of the ACME facility and the initialization condition method for different test conditions were established in the paper. Two types of tests, 5.08 cm break at the cold leg and the parallel balance line (PBL) double-ended break, were calculated using the NOTRUMP code model of ACME facility and the initialization condition. The results were compared with those of CAP1400 nuclear power plant. The results show that the NOTRUMP code model of ACME facility and the initialization condition method are acceptable, and the facility can reflect system reaction of CAP1400 nuclear power plant correctly in different LOCA conditions.
