Measurement of 241Am/239Pu Atom Ratio in Filter Sample-Based on Count Ratio in HPGe γ Spectrometer

  • The ratio of 239Pu 129.3 keV and 241Am 59.5 keV γ peak areas was measured by well-type HPGe γ spectrometer for filter samples and reference solution, respectively. Atom ratios of 241Am and 239Pu in filter samples were calculated according to the count ratios and the atom ratio of 241Am and 239Pu in reference solution. Then filter samples were digested chemically and the contents of 241Am and 239Pu were determined using isotope dilution mass spectrometric (ID-ICP-MS) analysis combined with radiochemical separation. The results with two methods are coincident with each other within the uncertainties.
