Calibration of Neutron Residual Stress Diffractometer at China Advanced Research Reactor

  • In order to calibrate the neutron residual stress diffractometer at China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR) and acquire the calibration parameters of one dimensional position sensitive detector (PSD) including sensitivity factor, geometrical relationship between position coordinate and diffraction angle, zero shift and so on, the experimental procedures were designed and the corresponding software was developed. The gained parameters were used to correct the raw data of the first four peaks of iron powder. The differences between corrected and calculated peak positions were smaller than the error required by residual stress diffractometer, which shows that the calibration parameters are precise and can be used to preprocess the raw data of CARR neutron residual stress diffractometer.
