Comparison of Performance of Several Analysis Softwares for HPGe γ Spectrum

  • The accuracy and reliability of spectrum analysis result are dependent on the analysis capability of HPGe γ-ray spectrum software. Four analysis softwares, GammaVision, Genie2000, AATAMI and GammaSharp were used to analyze the spectrum of the IAEA 2002 intercomparison of software for low-level γ-ray spectrometry and the reference sample spectrum of CTBT proficiency test exercise (PTE) 2010. After the performance of those softwares was compared, it was concluded that the capability of those softwares to calculate the peak area and search the small peaks is different, but their interactive analysis capabilities are nearly same. The comparison can be used for reference to choose the suitable softwares.
