Dose Rate Applied to Spent Fuel Damage Degree Evaluation System under Severe Accident Condition

  • A method for evaluating spent fuel damage degree based on dose rate measurement was introduced. Dose rate data of 100% cladding damage for various fuel enrichments and burnups were collected as data base. Spent fuel damage fraction was evaluated by shutdown time, accident time and monitor dose rate. In such way, spent fuel damage degree of different fuel types was evaluated separately. The method is applied to Qinshan Ⅱ spent fuel damage degree evaluation system.
