Thermal Safety Analysis of CFETR Helium Cooled Ceramic Breeder Blanket Module with RELAP5

  • Thermal safety analysis of China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor (CFETR) helium cooled ceramic breeder (HCCB) blanket was performed. The HCCB blanket was modeled with RELAP5 which was the best estimate tool of reactor transient system, and the steady-state analysis and postulated accident calculation were carried out. The calculation results show that there is no melting component in CFETR HCCB blanket after the in vessel LOCA and in-box LOCA happen, the pressures in all components are much lower than maximum limit, and the blanket system can remove decay heat effectively and quickly after the accident. CFETR HCCB blanket can meet the thermal safety requirement.
