Mechanical Analysis and Curing Technology Study of Superconducting Coil for 230 MeV Proton Cyclotron

  • In this paper, the superconducting coil of 230 MeV proton cyclotron was mechanically analyzed, and the strength of the superconducting coil under the different process conditions such as winding, cooling and excitation was checked. The curing process of the superconducting coil was studied. Winding and impregnation experiments were carried out to meet the requirement of the main process parameters of superconducting coil curing. According to these researches, a superconducting coil was manufactured. It is proved that the superconducting coil has good structural stability when it is ramping-up without quench in the excitation process.
