Experimental Study on Synthesis of Azocalix 4 Arene Derivative with Carboxylation Functional Group and Its Adsorption of Uranium

  • A novel functionalization material, 5,11,17,23-4 (4-hydroxyazobenzene)-25,26,27,28-calix 4 arene (p-TTPTA), was synthesized. This material was based on the calix 4 arene and decorated with p-aminobenzoic acid on the edege of the calix 4 arene. The p-TTPTA was characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, SEM and EDS. The effects of adsorption time, pH, dosage of p-TTPTA, initial uranium concentration and temperature on the adsorption of uranium by p-TTPTA were investigated. The results show that the p-TTPTA has stable conformation, rough surface, wide specific surface area and chemical compound with uranium. The optimal condition for the adsorption of uranium by p-TTPTA is pH=5, the initial uranium concentration of 20 mg/L, p-TTPTA dosage of 20 mg, time of 8 h and temperament of 30 ℃. According to above analysis, p-TTPTA can adsorb better uranium.
