Development of 10-year-old Chinese Pediatric Reference Boundary Representation Phantom

  • 10-year-old Chinese pediatric reference boundary representation phantom based on CT images of Chinese children was developed in this paper. The mesh-type phantom using both polygon-mesh and NURBS surfaces was established. The phantom was divided into 85 organs. The mass of individual organ was adjusted to the GBZ/T 200 2—2007 and Asian reference man with the difference less than 1% after the optimization of organs. The shape and position of all organs are consistent with the anatomical characteristics of Chinese children. This phantom provides an effective tool to estimate the dose of 10-year-old Chinese children accurately.
