Research on Triggered Lightning Energetic Radiation Observation and Data Analysis

By using a NaI(Tl) detector, a triggered lightning energetic radiation observation system was set up in this paper. The phenomenon of X-ray bursts produced by triggered lightning was observed, and three X-ray bursts were detected in four successful triggered lightning tests. The analysis result shows that the stepped leader signals of the triggered lightning have a one-to-one correspondence with the energetic radiation signals, and this indicates that the stepped leader may be the source of lightning energetic radiation.
