Development of Online Automatic Conditioning System in 120 MeV Electron Linear Accelerator

  • To ensure the performance and steady operation of the electron linear accelerator, the high power micro-wave accelerating structure should be conditioned. To solve the problems of the low efficiency and long duration of conditioning and the great burdens of the operators, an online automatic conditioning system was developed using SNL with EPICS and low level structure of the accelerator control system. The automatic conditioning system improves the efficiency, shortens the conditioning duration by about 25%, and reduces the operators’ burdens. It makes a good foundation for the accelerator to operate smoothly and reach the design indices.
