Lasers and Nuclei: Applications of Ultrahigh Intensity Laser in Nuclear Science and Technology

  • With the rapid development and wide application of laser technology, its application in nuclear science and technology has attracted more and more attentions. In this paper, the wide application of high power laser in the field of nuclear science and technology was introduced. The mechanism of interaction between laser and nucleus was described. Under the condition that the current laser intensity can be achieved, the research relating to nuclear physics using high-intensity lasers was summarized. The significance of LCS-γ in the study of nuclear physics and nuclear transmutation was analyzed.
