Development of High-power Automatic Conditioning Platform for China Spallation Neutron Source Linear Accelerator

  • An automatic conditioning platform of linear RF system for China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) was developed. The platform integrated functions such as voltage standing wave ratio protection, vacuum detection, arc detector, cavity resonant frequency calculation and frequency conversion, etc. It could adjust the power adaptively according to the status of cavity discharge for cavity conditioning. At the same time, it could adapt to the requirements of different cavities by modifying relevant parameters through software interface. It has the characteristics of high security, high intelligence and high flexibility. At present, the platform has been used in 8 RF power source systems of CSNS linear accelerator, and the efficiency of the conditioning is greatly improved and the workload of personnel is reduced under the premise of ensuring the safety of the cavity and RF power source.
