Analysis of Post-dryout Heat Transfer at Near Critical Pressure Region

  • In the Post-CHF region, the poor heat transport properties of the vapor may lead to temperature increase, even severe damage of the heating surface. Hence, it is of great importance to analyze Post-CHF region heat transfer characteristics. To assess existing models and make some improvement, a Post-dryout region heat transfer database with uniformly heated vertical upwards flow tubes was established. Based on this database, the analysis of Post-dryout region at near critical pressure region was launched and a new Post-dryout heat transfer correlation was proposed. The new heat transfer correlation predicts the database with average error of 0.9% and root mean square error of 14.4%, which performs better than other models.
