Experimental Research on Lifetime of γ-ray Diode for Reutilization

  • According to the physical property of γ-ray diode, the material and structure of electrode were developed and the new configuration of diode was explored on Qiangguang-Ⅰ facility. Experiment results show that the deeper-slot copper cathode and stacked tantalum anode effectively reduce cathode ablation, sputtering deposition pollution and anode thermal-dynamic damage. The lifetime-test experiment indicates that the deeper-slot copper cathode can be reused for 3 times and stacked tantalum anode can be reused for 4 times at least. All of these improvements can provide new technical ways for diode development and experimental efficiency of large area pulsed γ-ray radiation facility which is in construction.
