Research on Performance of Bulk Micromegas Applied to PandaX-Ⅲ Experiment Detector Test Platform

  • Searching for 0NUDBD (neutrinoless double beta decay) is the physics motivation of PandaX-Ⅲ Experiment, which requires a platform to test many parameters of Micromegas at the same time including gain, energy resolution, bad channel distribution and position resolution, etc. For this reason, China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) established PandaX-Ⅲ Experiment detector test platform. In this paper, Bulk Micromegas was used to the test platform for evaluation. Data were acquired by AGET readout electronics using 55Fe X-ray source under condition of flowing gas Ar+10%CO2. Afterwards, the data were analyzed by backend software program written in C++ and ROOT library, and the data analysis program ran smoothly. Bulk Micromegas detector shows good signal/noise ratio, and the clear X-ray images with energy resolution of 19.7% under 5.9 keV X-ray are obtained.
