Study on Optimization of Draining Hook for Corrugated Plate Moisture Separator with Double Hook

  • In order to improve the performance of the corrugated plate moisture separator with double hook, the computational fluid dynamics method was adopted to establish the model of two-phase flow in corrugated plate and study the corrugated plate moisture separator with different structure draining hooks. Contours of velocity magnitude and particle tracks in the corrugated plate were obtained by numerical calculation. Then the effects of draining hook structure on pressure drop and separation efficiency at different inlet velocities were analyzed. The results indicate that most droplets are separated at the first two stages and the mass fraction can exceed 50% when the inlet velocity is 0.922 m/s. The draining hook has effects on the pressure drop and separation efficiency by changing the local velocity and turbulence intensity of the flow field, and the direct interception of droplet by the draining hook is beneficial to improve separation efficiency. Considering the separation efficiency and pressure loss, the corrugated plate moisture separator with double hook that has good comprehensive performance is obtained.
