Creativity and Development of Linear Accelerator Technology at CIAE

  • Accelerator is a source of nuclear technology application and the most advanced radiation device in the world. The low- and medium-energy electron and proton high-current linear accelerator technologies were researched in China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), the multi-energy accelerators, high-power accelerating tube, DTL and CCL structure, 3 MW RF pulse power supply and other key technologies were breaked through. The serial non-destructive test and irradiation linear accelerators, with independent intellectual property rights, were developed successfully and their performance reached the international advanced level of similar facilities. They are used in fields such as industry, agriculture, scientific research and security, playing an irreplaceable role in China’s national economic development.
