DETERMINATION OF RADIUM IN WATER BY α-COUNTING

摘要: 方法首先在硫酸铵介质中用PbSO_4共沉淀镭,再在醋酸铵稀释的EDTA-NH_4OH溶液中用BaSO_4共沉淀镭,经两个步骤,然后将沉淀与硫化锌(银)混合均匀,并过滤制样品源,镭回收率为99%,放射性去污良好。~(226)Ra/~(224)Ra比值(B) 已知,5小时内可得到测定结果。B值未知,通过时间间隔大于40小时的两次测量,也可计算得到~(226)Ra和~(224)Ra的结果。方法最低探测限为2.7×10~(-4)Bq/l。Abstract: An analytical method is developed for the determination of Ra in water bymeans of α--counting after Ra has been coprecipitated first with PbSO_4 and thenwith BaSO_4 in EDTA--NH_4OH with a recovery of ~99%. Lower limit of thedetermination is 2.7×10~(-4) Bq/1 by the use of instruments having low Ra--background≤1.3×10~(-5)Bq. The determination takes 5 hours in case the ratio ~(226)Ra/~(224)Ra (B value) isknown. If B value is not known, another determination is necessary after thesample is allowed to decay for at least 40 hours to give the amounts of ~(226)Ra and~(224)Ra.
