离子束ns脉冲测量用可变栅距同轴靶

A NANOSECOND COAXIAL TARGET WITH ADJUSTABLE GRID FOR PULSED PROTON AND HEAVY ION BEAMS

  • 摘要: 本文讨论了影响同轴靶响应的诸因素以及在离子束ns脉冲测量用同轴靶的设计中的主要问题。在此基础上制成了一个具有可变栅距结构的同轴靶。该靶适用于速度在宽范围内变化的各种离子,曾成功地用于测量β=v/c值低至 6.5×10~(-4)的 Ar~(+)束脉冲。该靶同轴结构的上升时间约为 0.2 ns,曾用其观测到半高宽约为 1ns的质子束脉冲。

     

    Abstract: The waveform of the beam pulses measured by a coaxial target is carefullystudied versus the ratio of the ion transit time to the duration of the beam burst.Other factors involved in the design of a fast response target are also discussed.A coaxial target with adjustable grid-target gap is then designed and constructedto fulfil the pulse measurements for various ions. The rise time of the target isdetermined to be 0.2 ns. Beam bursts of H~+, N~+, N_2~+ and Ar~+ with velocitiesranging from V/C=6.5×10~4 to 2.5×10~(-2) are measured successfully with thetarget. The results are well consistent with the design values.
