Abstract:
A high current low energy accelerator is described in the paper. A routineoperation has given a 300 keV, 30 mA deuteron. beam with spot size less than2 cm on the target and a neutron yield of 3×10~(12) n/s through the (d,T) reaction. A duoplasmatron ion source, a high-gradient field accelerating tube with twogaps, a 4 stage symmetrical voltage multiplier type supply stabilized and fed by athyristor inverter power supply with frequency of 2.5 kHz, a 1100 r/min rotatingtarget with 20 cm diameter and so on are adopted.
