THE PRINCIPLE OF ECR ION SOURCE AND ANALYSIS OF ITS MAGNETIC FIELD

  • 摘要: 文章介绍了ECR离子源的发展历史和一般原理;给出了它产生高电荷态离子所必须的工作条件;着重讨论了磁场对源内等离子体性能的影响。基于对CAPRICE源磁镜场及六极约束场的计算,给出了该源磁场较精确的数量概念,这对了解它的磁路结构及磁场场型特点以及各铁元件的功能十分有益。通过对计算数据的分析,发现该源在磁路结构及场型上还有尚待修改的地方。所有这些对我们现有ECR源的调试、运行及局部改进提供了可靠的依据。

     

    Abstract: The brief development history and general principle of electron cyclotronresonance ion source are presented in the paper. The necessary working conditionsof ECR ion source for getting highly charged ions are described. The effect ofmagnetic field upon the confined plasma inside the source is discussed in somedetail. On the basis of the calculations of magnetic mirror and hexapole confine-ment field, a exactly quantitative concept on the magnetic field is introduced.This is helpful in understanding the picture of the magnetic circuit and magneticfield configuration, as well as the functions of the ferreous parts in the source.Some rooms for improvement of the magnetic circuit and field configuration arefound out. All these provide a reliable basis for tuning, operating and partialdeveloping the source.
