Abstract: The experimental investigation of liquid sodium critical heat flux (CHF) is carried out. From the experimental results, the mechanism of liquid sodium CHF and the effects of inlet subcooling, mass flow, system pressure and two phase flow instability on liquid sodium CHF are studied. The prediction formula for use with liquid sodium CHF is also presented.
