Abstract:
The electrochemical corrosion behaviors of aluminium and titanium/aluminium dual coatings on uranium surface,in 50 μg/g Cl
- potassium chloride solution, were studied by potentiodynamic polarization and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The corrosion characteristics of aluminium and titanium/ aluminium dual coatings on uranium surface are local corrosion, the corrosion rate of these coatings is evidently lower than that of uncoated uranium, and these coatings can provide good protection for uranium substrate. The aluminium is anodic coating to uranium, and offers sacrificial protection for uranium substrate. The titanium is cathodic coating to uranium,it’s protection for uranium substrate is based on physical barrier to corrosion medium.
