Abstract:
Ni-W alloys are the most excellent substrate materials for high temperature superconducting YBa
2Cu

7-δ. In order to obtain high current density, strong cube texture must be formed in Ni-W substrates. Ni-W(%)alloys were fabricated by spark plasma sintering system. The Ni-W substrates are obtained by the method of Rolling Assisted Biaxially Textured Substrates (RABITS). Cold rolling and recrystallisation textures are studied systematically by X-rays. The results show that the heavier cold rolling reduction; higher temperature of annealing and a two-step recrystallisation annealing are beneficial to the forming of cube texture in Ni-W substrates.
