Abstract:
A mathematical model describing the complex fluiddynamics of a bubble extractor from liquid LiPb loop for ITER was presented. The model equations were made dimensionless and, together with the proper boundary conditions, numerically solved by the orthogonal collocation technique. In order to better understand the role played by the different parameters in determining the performance of a bubble column, many suitable hypotheses were introduced. A parametric analysis of the extraction efficiency for a bubble column as a function of the process parameters was carried out and, on this basis, the design of a bubble extractor system was proposed.
