光电倍增管中子直照响应实验研究

Experimental Study on Response of Photomultiplier Tube to Neutron Irradiation

  • 摘要: 采用脉冲束中子飞行时间法和脉冲电荷计数法相结合的多参数测量方法,在中国原子能科学研究院HI-13串列加速器上,利用9Be(d,n)10B反应白光中子源,实验研究了光电倍增管对0.75~15 MeV之间的出射中子直照灵敏度。根据光电倍增管的工作原理,采用MCNP程序模拟计算了光电倍增管的中子直照灵敏度。分析表明,计算结果与实验结果基本一致。

     

    Abstract: The response of photomultiplier tube to neutron irradiation at energy range of 0.75-15 MeV was measured using white neutron source produced by the 9Be(d, n)10B reaction at HI-13 tandem accelerator in China Institute of Atomic Energy. Adopting the charge analog digital conversion technique and time-of-flight method, each pulse charge produced by a neutron was collected and recorded. Based on the mechanism of photomultiplier tube, the theoretical sensitivity to neutron irradiation was calculated by MCNP program and the calculated results agree with the experimental data.
