Abstract:
The digital pulse processing technique for n-
γ discrimination was investigated using DP310 waveform digitizers in liquid scintillator detector. The signals from anode and delay line amplifier were acquired separately, and the two methods of n-
γ discrimination were studied. The results show that for pulse rise time method, the higher sampling rate is, the higher the ability of n-
γ discrimination is; and the good digital pulse shape discrimination (DPSD) figure of merit appears when the upper and lower thresholds of pulse rise time is 10%-80% range of amplitude. For charge comparison method, the good DPSD figure of merit appears when the fast components charge is integrated at 25 ns point, the DPSD figure of merit is 1.56.
